The young pianist and composer Marco Benevento is equally at home in jamband, indie rock and avant-garde jazz settings.  After graduating from the Berklee School of Music in 1999, he formed a duo with college buddy drummer Joe Russo, toured with Phish's Trey Anastasio and performed as part of the band Garage A Trois.  Guest host Mark Leviton profiles his innovative keyboard work right up to the new release “Between the Needles and Nightfall.”

Founded at Mills College in 1973, The Kronos Quartet is dedicated to breaking barriers, play- ing music from around the world in classical, jazz, folk and experimental idioms. They have also commissioned more than 400 new compositions, including many by Terry Riley, whose 75th birthday they will be celebrating at Music in the Mountains on June 24. Guest host Mark Leviton will provide a survey of this adventur- ous group's interpretations of Jimi Hendrix, Bill Evans, Steve Reich, Philip Glass and their collaborations with Riley.
